Meredith Monk Remix Project

My buddy and fellow beatboxer Shodekeh is working on a Meredith Monk remix compilation curated by DJ Spooky.

I’ll give you a second to process all that.

OK, so, I was not familiar with Meredith Monk’s work. She has a huge body of work, and much of it seems to focus on singing and vocalization in the modern compositional sense. For example:

So now Meredith Monk is suddenly one of my FAVORITE artists ever. Funny how fast that can happen.

Shodekeh has been asked to remix Monk’s “Dolmen Music” for the above mention project. I am honored that he has asked me to help him put this together. It looks like this will be a test of my production skills, but I do have the advantage of familiarity with beatboxing. I am super excited to be a part of this.
